Well, we arrived in Kiev yesterday around 1:30 their time, which was around 5:30am CST. What a culture shock. It is just so weird to be in a country where you cannot speak their language and for the most part, they don't speak ours. It is also hard getting used to the time difference. We slept for about 10 hours when we got here. Toby got up around 3:30 their time and I got up around 4. AM that is!! We listened to the Red Sox online and then SKYPE'd our family. We are soooo thankful for having wireless internet in our apartment. God is so good. He even provides for our technological wants:)
We have a few days here before our SDA appt. A few too many in my estimation. I wish we could head down to Simferopol sooner to meet our little man. I feel like it will seem like a lifetime before we can head down there. Hopefully, we will be able to go Friday.
It is certainly an adventure of a lifetime...We are hoping to meet up with some other Reece's families today. It will be nice to have someone to TALK to:)

Hi! We are in Kiev now and we were going to hook up with you for lunch. We met Kristin at the SDA and she told us about lunch. We had to much to pack and get ready for our train ride that leaves today. So I'm sure we will see you Saturday when you get there........sounds like a LONG train ride!

ReplyDeleteJust got home 5 weeks ago from my adoption and all is great! I'm not a RR family and don't know you but know several RR families so wanted to wish you luck!! I know it feels really weird right now but you will adjust quickly. SDA is easy - don't worry about it - just look forward to your travels to region to see your new family member! Enjoy Kiev and the sights - once you leave and get in region Kiev will begin to feel like "home" to you and you will be glad to get back there on the "tail end" of the process. est of luck and will continue to check your progress! www.giftfromukraine.blogspot.com Cindy
